Fall is one of our favorite times of the year.
(and busiest!) Since I have started cooking at
the Village Bakehouse, things have been really
hectic. Still we are looking forward to Thanksgiving
again this year just as every year. When Bob and I
began hosting Thanksgiving for our family, it seemed
like a very daunting task. Now, we cook so much
and so often, for so many, that it's just not a big
deal anymore. We also are much better at
assigning
tasks. We have found that it is much
more fun
and rewarding to invite people early
and then let,
yes I said let!) them help with the preparation. Our
family and friends love to be
involved and we get
to spend more time together. Each year our
crowd numbers around fifty hungry
folks so we
do cook a lot of food! We prepare
5 turkeys, usually
three baked in the ovens,
one on the grill, and (to
appease our redneck
genes) there must be one deep fried.
We love the "competition" of which one is the
favorite each year. Fortunately, our Tucson
weather allows us to dine on the patio at long
tables all dressed in white. The men are still
allowed to take their plates and return to the TV
for football, but more often they like to eat at
the table with everyone else. We hope your
Thanksgiving celebration is as fulfilling for
you and your family as ours is for us.
Again this year, I am offering some classes
to help you through this sometimes over-
whelming event. Please browse our schedule.
This Thanksgiving day, I am also teaming with
KOLD TV, channel 13, to air some helpful
last minute tips throughout the morning
on how to survive all these cooking tasks,
and look good doing it! Chow,
Mardi
Please take a look at our
November and December schedule of classes.
We are excited to share this schedule of classes
