Monsoon OK,  Humidity Lousy!

The monsoon has landed and we are all afflicted with
severe humidity here in the desert. It is only somewhat welcome
to Bob and me. I hate humidity. After all these years in the desert,
I like my skin to feel dry (but not crispy), and my crackers to be
crispy (but not soggy). I know the rest of the country has
to deal with soggy food, but I just do not like it.

What do we do?
Keep the ice buckets filled, the crackers
wrapped tight, and enjoy all the greenery
on the Catalina mountains.

So what were we cooking this week?
Tuesday, we created some great recipes for our
Host your own Little Plates Party, and Thursday’s
class was a fabulous Trio of Grilled Salmons!
Next week, the last class of the month, we will be enjoying
savory, mouth watering Grilled Duck Breasts.
You won't want to miss it!!
September's schedule is due out any day now.

If you are lucky enough to find some fresh figs in the
grocery stores this week (hurry, they are usually only
available for a couple of weeks), you can enjoy one of my
favorite indulgences, fresh figs. You may think of them
as starters, but Bob and I can make a meal of these
Bleu Cheese Stuffed Grilled Fig Crostinis,
with a little wine of course!
Enjoy and I hope to see you in class soon!
