4 ounces bleu cheese, crumbled
6 large ripe figs
12 thin sliced baguette
Olive oil for brushing
Freshly ground pepper to taste
Prepare a fire in a grill.
Position the oiled rack 4-6 inches above the fire.
Brush baguette slices with the olive oil and place on grill to
toast for about 2 minutes on each side.
Remove and place on platter.
Meanwhile, cut each fig in half and place on grill cut side down,
just for a few minutes (about 3 minutes) carefully remove from grill
and place cut side up on a plate.
Top with the crumbled bleu cheese. If you would like the bleu cheese
lightly melted put the composed Crostini back on the grill, over indirect
heat and lid closed, for a few minutes, just until the cheese melts.
